Lidgerwood Seeds was founded in 1981 by the four Lidgerwood brothers: Peter, Jim, Don, and Noel.
Situated at 3810 Cape Otway Road in Birregurra, Victoria, the original plant was established to clean ryegrass seed from the family property. Due to the demand from local seed producers, the brothers invested in a large cleaning plant and construction of a purpose-built facility with storage.
Lidgerwood Seeds has since grown to a three-plant cleaning operation with associated storage and handling, fully automated finishing facility for bagging, and drying facilities, as well as the latest addition of an optical sorter. We also palletise finished product for our customers.

As the business celebrated its 40th year in 2021, Don and Jane decided to ease into retirement. Their son Simon and his wife Claire took on the business to continue it into a second generation.
Over the past several years Lidgerwood Seeds' range of clients has grown substantially from our small beginnings.

It is still very much a family business and along with Simon and Claire, former Lidgerwood owners Don and Jane visit the office from time to time. Simon and Claire's daughters pop in occasionally too.
